The Rio de Janeiro Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPRJ) is serving today (1st) five arrest warrants and seven search and seizure warrants against civil police officers. The agents, stationed at the Women’s Police Station (Deam), in the center of the city, are accused of charging bribes and allowing gambling establishments and prostitution houses to operate. Today’s action is the second phase of Operation End of the Line, whose first stage was triggered last Tuesday (29). The investigation began with the investigation of crimes committed by misdemeanors who exploit gambling. The first phase of End of the Line identified three criminal centers aimed at defrauding gambling results, relying on police support and using violence to conquer territories. Today’s action identified a new criminal group, which used the downtown police station as a base and structured itself to turn a blind eye to the operation of prostitution and gambling houses. The five police officers accused of participating in the group were reported to the 1st Specialized Organized Crime Court of the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ).
