The broadcaster’s programming gained prominence in the public’s interest in the attractions presented, consolidating the channel as the fifth most watched in the country since December 2021. According to data from Kantar Ibope Media, TV Brasil improved its market positioning between open and closed TVs . The broadcaster jumped from ninth position in December 2020 to fifth place in December last year. With the modernization of the technological park, the signal was 100% available in the country via satellite. More than 74 million people were reached with quality programming, with journalism, children’s attractions, series, movies, teledramaturgies, musicals and entertainment. Broadcasts of major sporting events, such as the Paralympics, the Série D of the Brasileirão, the National Futsal League and the National Basketball League, have also been part of the schedule over these 15 years. For the CEO of EBC, Glen Valente, the result of audience growth is the result of responsible management and commitment to the public. “At TV Brasil we always think about relevance, because when we are relevant we have the opportunity to communicate to more Brazilians. In addition, partnerships with our affiliates of the National Public Communication Network are a great highlight. Through them, we portray and show Brazil with quality regional content”, he says. Month after month, TV Brasil registers good ratings with new programming such as soap operas and cinema sessions with several national and foreign films. Premieres also include documentary series and environmental attractions. Own productions, content developed in partnership and international works also yield positively. The biggest children’s track on free-to-air TV, TV Brasil Animada is another reference in quality. Entirely without advertising, it shows cartoons and series that kids love and that focus on axes directly linked to the EBC strategy: Brazilian diversity, inclusion and citizenship. To celebrate the event, TV Brasil’s journalism team produced two special articles: one on the public broadcaster’s 15th anniversary and the other on the anniversary of Repórter Brasil, a network newscast launched three days after the opening of the TV channel. You can check out the specials on Repórter Brasil Tarde, at 12:15 pm, and on Repórter Brasil, at 7 pm, on the 2nd and 5th of December. Reach expanded by the Network Conquering an audience reinforces the work developed by the National Public Communication Network (RNCP), which is getting stronger and, with that, expands the growth of TV Brasil. Formed by 57 broadcasters and managed by EBC, the National Network of Public Communication on TV aims to disseminate the channel’s productions, in addition to strengthening regional production through the exchange of artistic and journalistic content. By the end of 2022, TV Brasil should be broadcast with a high quality signal to over 1,638 Brazilian municipalities with up to 50,000 inhabitants, with Digitaliza Brasil – an initiative of the federal government. The program of the Ministry of Communications aims to expand the transmission of the digital television signal throughout the national territory. Expansion in São Paulo TV Brasil inaugurated a digital channel in São Paulo and its studio facilities in the financial capital of the country in 2008, one year after the creation of EBC. On that occasion, the station became the first public television to broadcast in digital technology in the state. Access to programming in high definition image and digital sound quality became even more practical and faster in São Paulo with the change of TV Brasil to channel 1 in June 2020. symbolically, to the historical nature of the first television transmission in the country, in São Paulo, 70 years earlier, in 1950. Investment in telejournalism In recent years, TV Brasil’s programming range dedicated to telejournalism has grown with new productions, of these attractions on the small screen and the transmission of content in real time through the station’s social networks. Among the various initiatives, the channel launched the new format of Repórter Nacional in partnership with Rádio Nacional, re-released the newscast Repórter Brasil Tarde and also returned to producing local news programs in Brasília, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. The changes meant an increase of more than 300% in journalism on the station’s schedule. Another relevant action regarding journalistic attractions refers to the simultaneous translation into Libras, the Brazilian Sign Language, incorporated into TV Brasil newscasts in March 2018. The traditional sports programs Stadium, daily, from Monday to Friday, and No Mundo da Bola, Sunday, also adopted the practice. Currently, the station presents a series of live newscasts on the daily schedule, from Monday to Friday, starting at 7:30 am, with Repórter Nacional. With a privileged view of several attractions in the city of Rio de Janeiro as a backdrop, the space marked the re-release of the newscast Repórter Brasil Tarde on the public broadcaster’s small screen . Journalistic content also grew on the channel in 2022. The news gained new days and times with the programming launched in April. The highlights were on account of the news Summary Brasil, and the Saturday editions that the broadcaster started to show from the local newscasts and from Repórter Brasil. Dramaturgy works The programming of soap operas shown on TV Brasil has stood out in recent years with the public’s interest in the teledramaturgy content presented by the EBC broadcaster. The telenovela Os Dez Mandamentos marked the beginning of a new phase of channel acquisitions in April 2021 and recorded audience records. With great visibility in this new prime-time window on TV Brasil’s schedule, the work originally shown in 2015 was one of the attractions responsible for increasing the audience. After the end of the two seasons of the plot that told the saga of Moisés, TV Brasil aired the telenovela A Escrava Isaura in January of this year. Encouraging national dramaturgy is one of the pillars of the EBC, which seeks to strengthen the country’s audiovisual sector. With the positive repercussion of television drama productions, the station launched, in May, the second schedule of serials, earlier, at 6 pm, with the soap opera Os Imigrantes. The novelty reinforces the company’s institutional commitment to offering quality national attractions to citizens. A classic of the genre, the period story was produced and shown for the first time in 1981. The work A Terra Prometida premiered in July on TV Brasil. With viewers’ growing interest in its programming, the broadcaster consolidated the audience with the 2016 title.
