Petrobras reduces the price of cooking gas by 9.7% for distributors

The price of cooking gas sold by Petrobras to distributors will have a reduction of 9.7% starting tomorrow (8), announced today (7) the state-owned company. According to the state-owned company, the average amount paid by these companies for every 13 kg of fuel will have a drop of R$ 4.55. Cooking gas is officially called liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and the reduction announced today by Petrobras will cause a kilogram of LPG sold by the state-owned company to drop from R$3.5837 to R$3.2337. The amount charged by the Brazilian oil company corresponds to 42.5% of the final price that families pay for the cylinder, which costs, on average, R$ 109.75 in the country. Fuel distributors and resellers keep 47% of the amount paid by the final consumer, and 10.5% go to the federative units through the Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS). Petrobras claims that the adjustment in the price announced today follows the evolution of reference values ​​in the international market. The company justifies that its pricing practice is to seek the balance of its prices with the market without transferring the constant variations in the trading prices of LPG and the dollar abroad to the internal values.
