The exclusively dental operators and benefit administrators had a positive net result of R$ 958.5 million.“For comparative purposes, in 2018 and 2019, [anos] prior to the covid-19 pandemic, the accumulated net result up to the third quarter of each year was around BRL 8 billion. It reached a peak of BRL 15.9 billion in 2020, already influenced by the health issue, and dropped from 2021 onwards”, says the ANS in a note. of plans have been observed since the second quarter of 2021. The accumulated loss ratio for the year increased, from 88.84% in the second quarter of 2022 to 90.30% in the third. “These numbers indicate that practically 90% of the collected with the plans is spent with health assistance”, said, in a note, the director of Norms and Qualification of the Operators of the ANS, Jorge Aquino. effect of inflation (IPCA), there is a drop in revenue from plans (-3%) and assistance expenses (-2%) in the last quarter, despite the increase in the number of beneficiaries, which stood at 50.1 million (plans medical-hospital) and 30.5 million (exclusively dental plans) in September 2022. The comparison of revenue from plans and healthcare expenses reinforces the stagnation movements in revenue and suggests a change in beneficiaries to cheaper plans since the 4th quarter of 2021 ”, says the ANS.According to the ANS, the main performance compensator with the operation of plans continues to be the result of financial investments, which, favored by higher interest rates, presented the best accumulated result of the series for the third quarter: R$ 7.3 billion among medical-hospitals.
