A Federal Police operation aimed at those involved in fraud in bids fulfilled today (13) five search and seizure warrants in the northwest and north of Rio de Janeiro. The investigation began with the finding that false documentation was used to hire a company specializing in home care in the municipality of Santo Antônio de Pádua. The fraud in the bidding process involved the city’s Health Department. The Federal Police found that the company never provided any services to the municipality, which points to the possible commission of crimes provided for in the Penal Code and in the Law of Public Procurement and Administrative Contracts. The operation, dubbed More of the Same, was authorized by the Federal Court. The search and seizure warrants were carried out at the residence of the company’s owner in Campos dos Goytacazes and in the tender sector of the Health Department of Santo Antônio de Pádua.
