A 22-year-old man was arrested red-handed after invading a school in Ipaussu (SP), stabbing two teachers and holding a teacher hostage. The Military Police reported that the crime took place last night (14), around 8 pm, at the Professor Júlio Mastrodomenico State School, in the city center. According to the PM, the man was a former student of the school. The victims, a 26-year-old teacher and a 43-year-old teacher, were in the schoolyard when they were surprised by the criminal, who had jumped over the school wall. He was armed with a knife and held a 27-year-old teacher hostage, according to the Public Security Secretariat of São Paulo. He wounded the two teachers with stab wounds and hit the teacher with the butt. The Military Police were triggered and negotiated with the criminal who ended up surrendering and releasing the victims. The teachers were rescued with injuries and sent to hospitals in the city. According to the corporation, one of them remains hospitalized in serious condition at the Hospital de Ourinhos. The case was registered as attempted murder and threat. Military Police found two knives, a cell phone and a firearm simulacre with the criminal. In a note, the Secretary of Education of the State of São Paulo (Seduc) said it regretted what happened and repudiated all forms of violence inside or outside the school: “the folder clarifies that there were no students in the place at the time of the incident”. Classes at the school were suspended this morning (15). The central team of the Program for the Improvement of Coexistence and School Protection (Conviva-SP) is providing support to the servants and the school community, informed Seduc.
