The National Department of Transport Infrastructure (Dnit) made an alert about the situation of several highways, impacted by the heavy rains that hit some states. The agency reported that it is monitoring the occurrences to ensure the safety of users. “In this way, the Dnit teams remain alert and, together with the companies that work in the maintenance of federal roads, have promptly responded to emergency demands to release the highways as soon as possible. When a risk to users is detected by technicians, the roads are blocked and signaled, in order to guarantee the safety of drivers”, he explained, in a statement. Until the night of this Thursday (22), the situation of the highways affected by the rains was as follows: Alagoas – BR-101 – Between kilometer (km) 120 and km 123, in the municipality of Marechal Deodoro, the highway follows completely interdicted due to geological problems registered in the pavement after the rains. The site is properly signposted. As an alternative route, for those wishing to head towards Aracaju-Recife, Dnit directs access to the state road AL-220 at km 128 of the federal road, then take BR-424 to BR-316 and return to BR-101 at km 101. For users traveling in the opposite direction (Recife-Aracaju), when arriving at km 101, the alternative is to access BR-316, then BR-424 to the state road AL-101 and return to BR- 101 at km 128. – BR-316 – The highway is operating in the STOP AND FOLLOW system, at km 184, on half lane in the descending lane. The interdiction is necessary due to the rupture of the platform, caused by the rains that hit the state. Dnit continues to work on the section, restoring the landfill and instructs users to redouble their attention to signs when traveling in the segment. Bahia – BR-418 – Due to the heavy rains that hit the state, vehicle traffic on km 56.7 of the highway is completely prohibited. The teams signaled the location and are waiting for better weather conditions to carry out repair services on the pavement.- BR-101 – Km 825 is completely banned due to the fall of the barrier caused by heavy rains in the region. Dnit teams have already signaled the location. Espírito Santo – BR-342 – Stretch of km 93 of the BR-342 is completely closed due to the rupture of the road body due to the flood of the 15 de Novembro River. Dnit advises to use the alternative route accessing the ES-320, towards Barra de São Francisco, until the junction with the ES-220; access ES-220 until the junction with BR-342 and follow to Nova Venécia. Maranhão – BR-230 – At km 392 there is a total ban. Dnit teams signaled the location and are waiting for better weather conditions to carry out the services. Minas Gerais – BR-262 – At km 179 there was erosion on the shoulder, towards the municipality of Vargem Linda. The teams signaled the location and advised users to travel with caution in the region. – BR-354 – Due to the erosion of the slope at km 586 and km 526 of the highway, it was necessary to interdict half a lane. As the track has a shoulder, it is possible for two vehicles to travel at the same time, without risk to drivers, thus ensuring flow in the section. To ensure traffic safety, two speed bumps were installed on site to reduce speed. – BR-367 – Between km 0 and km 30 there is an intermittent flow due to flooding on the highway. Dnit is carrying out an inspection in this segment and is asking for attention to be completely banned at km 3, in Córrego do Padre. As an alternative route, the agency suggests taking the BR-116 to Vitória da Conquista (BA) and taking the BR-415 to Itabuna (BA), joining the BR-101, towards Itagimirim (BA). At km 16, in Salto da Divisa, the road is completely banned due to a flooding point with erosion. – BR-381 – Dnit carries out recovery services for km 291 of the BR-381, towards Antônio Dias. Due to heavy rains, teams are working to protect the slope. The site was signposted and vehicle traffic was diverted into the tunnels. – BR-494 – The highway has two restriction points due to the rains. The first at km 178 due to erosion on the embankment. Spring breakers were installed at the site and traffic flows in half lane. – BR-265 – At km 350 there was erosion on the embankment. At this point, which is on a double lane, the ban is on one lane. Paraná – BR-277 – One lane is free in each direction on the road to the coast, between km 41 and km 42. The partial ban was due to the fall of a barrier and new landslides. Crews continue to work on the site. Santa Catarina – BR-280 – At km 77, Dnit built an extra lane on an emergency basis to ensure local traffic in both directions of the highway, after a barrier slipped. The teams have already cleared most of the landslide areas, now the work is focused on recovering the road structure. In another stretch, the ban is total between km 84 and km 122 and teams are working on cleaning and recovering the track with no forecast for release. The Department instructs drivers to use an alternative route towards the coast/Paraná, accessing BR-116 until the junction with BR-470.
