At least three people were arrested for participating in an attempt to invade the headquarters of the Federal Police (PF) and other acts of vandalism, in the federal capital, on the last 12th. The PF and the Civil Police of the Federal District, through of Operation Nero, serve a total of 32 warrants, 11 of which are for arrest, in the Federal District and in seven states: Rondônia, Pará, Mato Grosso, Tocantins, Ceará, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In a press conference held at the PF headquarters building, the corporations detailed that the arrest and search and seizure warrants were issued by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). “The PF served an arrest warrant for an indigenous citizen [José Acácio Serene Xavante] on the 12th of December. Shortly after this arrest, there was an attempt to invade the PF building. Apparently, to try to rescue this prisoner. From that, there was a reaction from the police to repress this invasion attempt and there was a resurgence. The protesters began violent acts of depredation of both public and private property”, explained the director general of the PF, Márcio Nunes de Oliveira. One of the three arrests made so far was in Brasília. Investigations point out that the other suspects have already left the DF. At first, as this is a temporary prison, the targets will be taken to the PF superintendence in each state. The suspects can answer for the crimes of qualified damage, arson, criminal association, violent abolition of the democratic rule of law and coup d’état, whose maximum combined penalties reach 34 years in prison.
