Police officers from the police station in São Pedro da Aldeia, in the Lagos Region, served, this Thursday (26), arrest warrants against two military police officers involved in the murders of Navy Sergeant Sidney Lins dos Santos Júnior and his friend, Army sergeant, Julius Caesar Mikaloski Equey. The crime took place at dawn on December 3 last year in São Pedro da Aldeia. On December 2, 2022, the two military personnel from the Armed Forces had attended a Brazil match for the World Cup in Cabo Frio and headed to the neighboring city of São Pedro da Aldeia, where they went to a nightclub in the city. Júlio César was separated, had a couple of children and lived in Baixada Fluminense. He went to the Lagos Region for the first time, at the invitation of the Navy sergeant, Sidney Lins Júnior. They were at the nightclub when there was a scuffle. At that time, two men armed with rifles appeared, who relieved the two soldiers and put them in the back seat of one of the kidnappers’ cars. Hours later, the two soldiers were found dead and charred on Estrada da Caveira, a deserted place in São Pedro da Aldeia, inside the car of one of the victims. Civil Police investigations began after finding a vehicle with two charred bones. The agents consulted the license plate of the car, identified the bodies and discovered that the two soldiers were walking in São Pedro da Aldeia and would have been last seen in a nightclub in the city. Police officers from the 125th DP collected images from security cameras, saw a car following the victims and found that it belonged to one of the perpetrators of the crime. That car belonged to the military policeman, Alexander Amorim da Silva, who, along with another PM, Marcos Paulo Tavares, both assigned to the Cabo Frio PM battalion, were the perpetrators of the crime. In addition to killing the victims, they set the car on fire and left the two charred bodies in the trunk of the vehicle. Temporary arrest and search and seizure warrants were requested from the Court. The authors’ firearms, cell phones and the car used on the day of the crime were seized. Two women, owners of the nightclub where the victims were, are also being sought, as they were responsible for erasing the traces in the club and washing the place. The police believe that the two soldiers would have been shot inside the establishment and then executed on Estrada da Caveira. The action that resulted in the arrest of the perpetrators of the crime had the support of the General Internal Affairs of the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro.
