The challenges are enormous. Unique moments in our history that lead us to a lot of reflection, positions and firm attitudes. Aside from these attacks on the democratic rule of law, we have some crimes attributable to the federal police on the rise”, highlighted the new superintendent. Federal Police, Andrei Augusto Passos Rodrigues, participated in the inauguration ceremony and also highlighted the performance of the Federal Police in the anti-democratic acts of January 8. “I participate in this ceremony after the beginning of an extremely atypical and challenging journey. With satisfaction, I see that, despite the magnitude of recent absurd and criminal events, our institution was able to give a vigorous response, necessary and expected by Brazilian society. asileira, demonstrating that it is prepared for major challenges and for acting as a state institution”, he highlighted. The general director of the Federal Police also cited the reasons for choosing Giampaoli. “São Paulo is such a strategic position that it was carefully thought out. [Giampaoli] he is knowledgeable about the peculiarities and complexities of São Paulo, he was born here, he is a leader who assumes the responsibility of command with complete mastery of his team’s functions”. Andrei also stated that investigative autonomy and the management of police operations will be a ‘mantra’ of the current administration. “All our investigations must be coordinated based on the trinomial: quality of evidence, investigative autonomy and responsibility. We will be absolutely rigorous in relation to deviations and personalities. We will not allow personal projects, interference, pressure from any body, groups or media spotlight to guide any institutional action. No deviation from purpose will be tolerated. I know it borders on the obvious, because it is part of our institutional and personal values for all of us who are here, but in these absurd times we live in, it is never too much to emphasize”, he highlighted.
