Saturday (11) already starts with a lot of samba for those who will parade in the blocks at the Pré-Carnaval on Rua 2023 in São Paulo. There are 181 parades spread across all regions of the capital, with attractions such as Lexa, Luísa Sonza, Pabllo Vittar, Pocah and Michel Teló. According to the city of São Paulo, which organizes the event, the 2023 Street Carnival should bring together 15 million revelers in the city. In pre-carnival, this weekend, the highlights are the parades of the blocks Bangalafumenga, Casa Comigo, Sargento Pimenta, all on Saturday, and the blocks Gambiarra and Chá da Alice, on Sunday (12), in Pinheiros. Bloco da Pocah leaves on Saturday, in Santana/Tucuruvi. On Sunday, the Monobloco parade in Vila Mariana; and the Lexa blocks, in Lapa; Sunday Ela Não Vai, at Sé; and Modo Surto, with Luísa Sonza, in Santo Amaro. Throughout the entire carnival cycle, which includes pre and post carnival, the division by region/subprefecture is as follows: in the west zone, there are 145 parades, 74 in Pinheiros, 47 in Lapa and 24 in Butantã. In the center, the total is 121 parades. In the south zone, there are 102 parades, 32 in Vila Mariana, 18 in Ipiranga, 17 in Santo Amaro, 15 in M’Boi Mirim, eight in Capela do Socorro; five in Campo Limpo; three in Cidade Ademar; three in Jabaquara and one in Parelheiros. In the north zone, there are 76 parades, 21 in Santana/Tucuruvi, 18 in Freguesia do Ó, 15 in Casa Verde, seven in Jaçanã, seven in Pirituba, five in Vila Maria and three in Perus. In the east zone, there are 68 parades, 16 in Mooca, 14 in Penha, eight in São Miguel Paulista, six in Itaquera, six in Itaim Paulista, six in Cidade Tiradentes, three in Aricanduva, three in Ermelino Matarazzo, two in Guaianases, two in Vila Prudente, two in São Mateus and two in Sapopemba. In the megablock circuit are Rua da Consolação, avenues Luís Dumont Villares, Avenida Brigadeiro Faria Lima, Avenida Marquês de São Vicente, Avenida Pedro Álvares Cabral and Rua Laguna. In the circuits of large and medium blocks are Rua Henrique Schaumann and avenues Helio Pellegrino, Paulo VI/Sumaré and Vereador Abel Ferreira. This year, there will be no parades in Largo da Batata and on Engenheiro Luiz Carlos Berrini and Tiradentes avenues. In 2023, there will be 57 new blocks parading through the streets of the capital. Organization The routes defined by the blocks together with the Municipal Secretariat of Culture were validated by the municipal administration, together with road safety agencies such as the Traffic Engineering Company (CET), in addition to the Military Police and the Metropolitan Civil Guard. According to the city hall, janitorial actions were intensified, such as pruning and removal of trees and hole plugs. The Municipal Secretariat of Subprefectures will provide 28,000 chemical toilets for the 2023 Street Carnival, including those adapted for people with disabilities. The folder also informed that, in conjunction with the Metropolitan Civil Guard, measures will be adopted to combat irregular trade and irregular advertising on public roads and the legislation in force in the municipality, including the Lei do Xixi, which provides for the application of sanctions to person who urinates in public. The current value of the fine is R$ 668.43. The blocks will also be inspected: there will be 100 inspection teams totaling 1,200 people working in this inspection. To hold the party, 100,000 railings will be installed, totaling 240 linear kilometers (km), in addition to 48 km of fencing. CET will monitor the parades of the registered blocks, activating momentary or fixed blocks and necessary deviations. Medical center To provide assistance to the enrolled blocks, 600 ambulances are being hired daily, 500 of which are structured for basic care and 100 for advanced life support (mobile ICUs). The structure destined to the so-called megablocks, which will have fixed and pre-established routes, will have 20 medical posts, with three of them fixed in strategic points of the city, in addition to 500 professionals divided between 100 ambulances, of which 80 are destined to basic care and 20 to advanced life support care. Security The Metropolitan Civil Guard (GCM) will reinforce community and preventive patrols during Carnival in all regions of the city. In all, there will be an average of 1,400 GCM agents and approximately 300 vehicles per day, in addition to 60 extra motorcycles per day throughout the period. During the interventions, the GCM will work together with the Military Police of the State of São Paulo, in all events related to Carnival, in accordance with the legal attributions of each body. In addition, the Military Police Operations Center (Copom) and the GCM Telecommunications Center (Cetel) will carry out an integrated monitoring work, including with Municipal Guard agents present at the Operations Center during this period. Assistance to the LGBTI public There will be a specialized mobile unit to assist women victims of violence, the Lilac Bus, and the LGBTI population (LGBTI Mobile Unit). Both will be at Praça da República, on pre-Carnival days and during Carnival (from the 17th to the 21st) between 9am and 7pm, with the exception of February 17th, when the hours will be from 6pm to 10pm. If necessary, the woman victim of violence will be accompanied by a member of the specialized team and sent to the Casa da Mulher Brasileira, located in Cambuci. Another three LGBTI mobile units will also be in the east, south and north regions. The Municipal Secretary of Human Rights and Citizenship, responsible for the units, will also make 3,000 identification bracelets available to children, which will be distributed by the carnival blocks. Cleaning For public cleaning, almost 3 thousand sweepers and 330 vehicles will work in the city. 1,200 baskets will be made available to the population for the correct disposal of waste and 220 Voluntary Delivery Points (PEVs) at the entrance to the blocks, in addition to 500 containers along the path of the blocks. The Executive Secretariat for Urban Cleaning stated that, after the events have taken place, in about 40 minutes, the city’s roads will be cleaned, washed and handed over for the free movement of people and vehicles.
