Midfielder Ary Borges said, in a press conference this Tuesday (14th), that the She Believes Tournament (a friendly competition to be played between February 16th and 22nd in the United States) is a great opportunity for the Brazilian team to test for the next edition of the Women’s World Cup, scheduled to be played between July and August this year in Australia and New Zealand. “She Believes is a very important tournament, there are four very strong teams, and it prepares us for the full intensity of a World Cup. They are games with different schools, the Japanese team plays one way, the Canadian team, which we faced a little while ago, plays in a different way and is even a little fresher in our minds and the United States team, perhaps the biggest power, the great selection within the competition”, declared the player from Racing Louisville (United States). The debut of the Brazilians in the friendly tournament will be starting at 6 pm (Brasília time) next Thursday (16) against Japan at Exploria Stadium, in Orlando. Three days later, at Geodis Park, in Nashville, at 8:30 pm, the opponents will be the Canadians, gold medalists at the Tokyo Olympics (Japan). Brazil’s participation will come to an end on the 22nd, again at 8:30 pm, against the hosts, current world champions, at Toyota Stadium, in Frisco. Despite the challenge of facing major powers in women’s football, such as the United States, Ary made it clear that the desire of the team led by Swedish coach Pia Sundhage is to win the title: “I hope we have a good championship, that we manage to play good games, but also get out of here, who knows, with the title of the tournament”.
