Stefani’s duo falls in debut The new partnership between Luisa Stefani and Kazakh Anna Danilina gave an early farewell to the Doha tournament when she was beaten in her debut by Chinese Shuai Zhang alongside Mexican Giuliana Olmos, by 2 sets to 1 (7/5 , 4/6 and 10/7). Now opponents, Stefani and Zhang formed a successful duo last week, when they won the title at the Abu Dhabi tournament. The Brazilian started the year with the mixed doubles title at the Australian Open – alongside Rafael Matos from Rio Grande do Sul – and lifted the cup in the women’s doubles tournament at the WTA 500 in Adelaide, in partnership with the North American Taylor Townsend.
