Police inspect OAB-RJ and find no alleged bomb

The Bomb Squad of the Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro carried out a sweep at the headquarters of the section of the Order of Lawyers of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro (OAB-RJ) this afternoon (15) and did not find any explosive devices. The building, located in the center of Rio de Janeiro, was evacuated around 12:00, after a letter with a bomb threat was found. With the decision to evacuate the building, the office was suspended, causing the interruption of all events and other administrative activities. According to the press office of the OAB-RJ, the office will resume tomorrow (16). During the police work, which even had sniffer dogs, Avenida Marechal Câmara, where the building is located, was blocked at Avenida General Justo. According to the Rio de Janeiro City Hall Operations Center, traffic was cleared around 3 pm. The case was registered at the 5th Police Station (Mem de Sá) and witnesses have already been heard. The letter with the threat was handed over to the police and will undergo forensic examination. The agents will also request images from cameras installed at the site and other measures will be taken to clarify the facts.
