The Governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, and the Minister of the Environment, Marina Silva, flew over this Wednesday (22) to assess the areas affected by landslides on the North Coast. Secretaries of the Government of São Paulo and technicians accompanied the managers. After the flyover, the delegation led by the governor visited a shelter set up at the Verdescola Institute, at Praia Barra do Sahy, in the municipality of São Sebastião. The municipality of São Sebastião, on the north coast of the State of São Paulo, mainly in the South Coast region, was the most affected by the storms that hit the region, between Saturday (18) and Sunday (19). There were landslides on slopes, flooding and isolated neighborhoods due to the interdiction of access roads. So far, 48 people have been found dead in São Sebastião; 1,730 are homeless and 766 are homeless throughout the state.
