Caixa branches started their service earlier this Friday (24th), at 9 am, to serve residents of six municipalities in São Paulo affected by the rains, who will be entitled to benefits authorized by the federal government. Among the releases are the Calamidade Withdrawal from the Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS) and the early withdrawal of Bolsa Família. The measure benefits inhabitants of the cities of Bertioga, Caraguatatuba, Guarujá, Ilhabela, São Sebastião and Ubatuba. Also by decision of the government, Caixa will grant credit and make payment of housing contracts more flexible under special conditions. Real estate financing contracts may have a break of up to 90 days, if the contractor so wishes, which must be requested at bank branches. The installments will be incorporated into the customer’s outstanding balance. The bank will also offer immediate support to customers for triggering home insurance and procedures so that they can guarantee compensation. In addition, technical teams from Caixa will be in the region to assess the impact of the rains on social housing developments and provide support to residents. Another action that comes into force, in favor of residents of the region, is the simplification of claims filing by Caixa Seguridade, with payment of indemnities for processes of up to R$ 10,000 in Residential Insurance. The period for analysis is two working days, which start counting from the sending of the budget and photos of the property. For life insurance, the deadline is three business days after the death certificate is sent. The storm that hit the municipalities on the north coast of São Paulo last weekend was considered by the São Paulo government to be one of the biggest tragedies ever to have occurred in the state. The municipality of São Sebastião was one of the most affected, with landslides and flooding, leaving isolated neighborhoods and causing the death of up to 50 people. Caixa can be contacted via WhatsApp, telephone 0800 104 0104 and the internet. There are also specific applications for each benefit, such as Caixa Tem, Caixa Housing, FGTS and Bolsa Família.
