Died this Sunday (5), at the age of 84, the former referee Romualdo Arppi Filho, aged 84, in Santos (SP), one of the most important football referees in the history of the country. He was hospitalized at Ana Costa Hospital, on the coast of São Paulo, for kidney treatment. The first football referee in the country in a World Cup decision was Arnaldo Cezar Coelho, in the German Cup (1982). Throughout his career, according to the CBF, Romualdo Arppi Filho played in the finals of the Brazilian Championship in 1984 and 1985, in the decision for the title of the Interclub World Cup in 198,; and in matches of three editions of the Olympic Games: Mexico City (1968), Moscow (1980) and Los Angeles (1984).
