This year Brazil will host one of the three Pre-Olympic men’s volleyball tournaments that will define the first six spots for the Paris 2024 Games. The decision was announced this Wednesday (8) by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), which still did not define in which city the competition will be held. The three tournaments will run concurrently between September 30th and October 8th. The draw for the keys will take place on the 17th, at 9 am (Brasília time), with a live broadcast on FIVB YouTube. Teams from 24 countries (check them all out below) will be drawn for the three tournaments. Only the two best placed in each competition qualify for the Paris Games. One of the spots is already reserved for France as the host country, both in the men’s and women’s competitions. The Paris Games will bring together 12 selections of each gender. In addition to the places distributed by the Pre-Olympics – six for women and six for men –, the others will be allocated to the best placed teams in the world ranking, after the preliminary phase of the 2024 League of Nations. it also defined the venues for the women’s Pre-Olympic tournaments. Japan and China will host the competitions from September 16th to 24th this year.
