The body of carnival artist Mário Borrielo was laid to rest this Sunday (12) and will be buried later today at the São João Batista Cemetery, in Botafogo, in the south zone of Rio. His partner, Jefferson Borrielo, told Agência Brasil that the cause of her husband’s death was a generalized infection. Two years ago he was fighting leukemia. “He was hospitalized for the treatment of some bedsores and then he contracted an infection that got worse and worse. The kidneys stopped, he began to undergo hemodialysis and from this hemodialysis he died ”, he revealed. Back at Salgueiro, he was in charge of the plots of 1997 with De Poeta, Carnavalesco e Louco, Everybody Has A Little and in 1998 with Parintins, A Ilha do Boi-Bumbá: Garantido X Caprichoso, Caprichoso X Garantido. In 1999 he went to Império Serrano with the plot Uma Rua Chamada Brasil. In the following year he created the plot Pra Não Dizer Que Não Falai das Flores – The creative impulse of the arts, in response to the oppression of the military regime installed with the Revolution of 64, in União da Ilha. From 2002 he was again at Império Serrano and then at Porto da Pedra and at Tradição. Fantasias Borrielo also participated and was awarded in luxury costume parades in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
