Arson attacks against public buildings and municipal vehicles have been registered in series since Monday (13) in Rio Grande do Norte. According to the state government, shots were also recorded in some locations. At least nine suspects involved in the attacks were arrested. In order to preserve the intelligence and investigation work, the State Secretariat for Public Security and Social Defense does not inform “locations, quantity or types of criminal occurrences” of the attacks. Faced with the situation, investigative steps were reinforced and ostensive actions were expanded at strategic points in the state. “Judicial measures were also requested by the public security forces to the competent bodies”, informed the potiguar government. “Between dawn and this morning, nine people were arrested; and weapons, drugs, money, motorcycles and explosive devices were seized. In one occurrence, registered in the west zone of Natal, there was a confrontation between police forces and criminals, when a man was injured, but did not resist”, said, in a note, the government advisory.
