Petrópolis City Hall decided to expand the vaccination scheme against covid-19. Starting this Saturday, pregnant and puerperal women will be able to receive doses of Pfizer’s ambivalent vaccine. Next Monday, the priority group is health workers and people with disabilities. The municipality’s Health Secretariat said that the new vaccination schedule follows a technical note from the Ministry of Health. Not all health posts will have the doses available at first. Those who fit into the priority groups should be aware of specific vaccination sites. On Saturday, it takes place only at the Itamarati Health Center, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, or at the Health Academy, in Parque Cremerie, from 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm. On Monday, the vaccine will be available at nine posts in the municipality. “This Tuesday, we received a batch with 11,220 doses, which will supply these nine stations. It is essential that people attend to receive the immunizer and complete the vaccination schedule. We have noticed a low demand. The forecast is to immunize 32,609 people in this first phase and, so far, 8,142 people have already taken this booster”, said Mayor Rubens Bomtempo. The bivalent Pfizer vaccination began on February 27 in Petrópolis. To receive the doses, it is not necessary to schedule, but the person must have received the first two doses of the covid-19 vaccine, 4 months ago or more. It is expected that, as of April 17, the next groups to receive the vaccine will be health workers, people with permanent disabilities (from 12 years old), incarcerated population (from 18 years old), adolescents who comply with socio-educational institutions (under 18 years old) and employees of the prison system.
