The Official Journal of the Union published, this Tuesday (28), an ordinance from the Ministry of Integration and Regional Development that releases more than R$ 1.4 million for humanitarian aid to the population victim of the floods in Acre. The money is intended primarily for the purchase of basic food baskets, hygiene and cleaning kits and mattresses. Five municipalities are among those hardest hit by the floods, according to the welcome bulletin released by the state government. They are: Rio Branco, Assis Brasil, Brasileia, Epitaciolândia and Xapuri. In the capital, Rio Branco, there are 695 homeless families in 39 shelters. To ensure medical care for flood victims, the Department of Health (Sesacre) has teams of professionals visiting shelters daily to monitor people’s health, including children and the elderly. A group of teachers from the Physical Education area develops recreational activities with sheltered children and adolescents. More rain The National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) maintains a forecast of rain showers and isolated thunderstorms for the next few days in Rio Branco and heavy rains in other regions of the state. The volume of water caused the Acre River and streams to overflow. The flood hit 48 neighborhoods in the state capital. The state Civil Defense reported that at 6 pm on Monday (27) the measurement level of the Acre River, in Rio Branco, registered 16.80m, exceeding the alert quota (13.50m) and also the overflow quota (14m ).
