The Public Prosecutor’s Office of São Paulo requested information from the São Paulo City Hall and the consortium responsible for Mobizap SP, a transport application launched by the municipal administration. Prosecutor Paulo Destro is investigating, on a preliminary basis, allegations that companies that make up the winning consortium in the bid to operate the platform are liable for embezzlement of public funds in other contracts. The city hall and the consortium have 10 days to send information about the situation. According to the Municipal Department of Mobility and Traffic, the new application aims to improve access to mobility in the city, with a fairer price for users and higher remuneration for drivers. The platform went into operation last Thursday (23) and operates similarly to others that already operate in the country. Consortium 3C won the tender opened by the city hall by offering the lowest charge on the value of rides, with an administration fee of 10.95%. The company did not say what the price of the fare is, just that it is a value not affected by demand, calculated by the estimated travel time, distance and time. Regarding the request of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Municipal Mobility and Traffic Department said that it will manifest itself after having access to the representation filed with the Public Prosecutor’s Office that points out the possible irregularities.
