To reach the title match, Ketleyn Quadros first overcame Australian Maeve Coughlan, Romanian Florentina Ivanescu, Portuguese Barbara Timo and Canadian Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard. “This medal is very important for my Olympic process and, mainly, for our preparation for the World Championship. It serves as a motivation for the next challenges”, declared the Brazilian, who started the competition occupying the 8th position in the world ranking and who, with the thousand points achieved in Turkey, should be one of the key heads of the World Cup. Paris Olympic Games Judo is the modality that has guaranteed the most medals to Brazil in the history of the Olympic Games: 23 podiums. The Brazilian team tries to guarantee representatives in each of the 14 individual categories, in addition to the team tournament. The best position in the world ranking serves as a reference for the International Judo Federation (IJF) to distribute places for the 2024 Games, which will be held in Paris.
