The Public Security Task Force in Acre (FTSP-AC) launched today (3) an operation to comply with 36 court orders, 19 for preventive arrest and 17 for search and seizure against members of a criminal faction in the state. According to the Federal Police (PF), those involved will respond for the crimes of promoting and joining an armed criminal organization that uses the participation of adolescents, whose sentences, if convicted, can exceed 20 years in prison. The court orders were issued by the State Court of Crimes of Criminal Organizations of Acre and are being fulfilled in the Acre cities of Cruzeiro do Sul and Porto Walter and in Guajará (AM). Named Operation Rojão, the investigation began in 2022 when police work identified several members of a nationwide criminal faction operating in Acre. Criminals practiced extortion, drug and weapons trafficking, homicides and robberies. “The name of the operation refers to the facts that led to the beginning of the investigations, in which criminal faction leaders operating in the state of Acre organized and promoted fireworks on the day of the All Souls Day, in reference to members who died in disputes over territories with rival factions,” reported the PF. The Public Security task force in the state of Acre is composed of the Federal Police, Civil Police and Military Police. This Monday’s operation involved the participation of 70 police officers in carrying out the warrants.
