After attack, government promises measures to promote culture of peace

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will sign the creation of an inter-ministerial working group to propose actions to promote a culture of peace and combat violence in society. The announcement was made by the Minister of the Social Communication Secretariat of the Presidency (Secom), Paulo Pimenta, in the midst of consternation over the attack on a day care center in Blumenau (SC), which resulted in the death of four children, this Wednesday morning. On March 27, teacher Elizabeth Tenreiro, 71, died after being stabbed at the Thomazia Montoro State School, in the Vila Sônia neighborhood of São Paulo. A 13-year-old teenager, responsible for the attack, has been apprehended. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva offered, this Tuesday (5), condolences to the families of the victims of the attack that took place at the Blumenau day care center. “There is no greater pain than that of a family that loses its children or grandchildren, even more so in an act of violence against innocent and defenseless children.
