The president of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), Minister Alexandre de Moraes, said this Tuesday (11) that he hopes that companies that operate social networks will take measures to curb publications with Nazi, homophobic and anti-democratic content on the platforms. The charge was made during a meeting between Moraes and the presidents of the 27 regional electoral courts (TREs), in Brasília. The meeting was held to discuss the organization of the 2024 municipal elections. At the meeting, Moraes said that platforms should fight publications with Nazi, fascist, homophobic and anti-democratic content “with the same vigor that they fight posts with nuances of pedophilia, pornography and infraction to copyright”. “I think that the burden of proof should even be reversed. When in doubt about the content of content removed from the air, the author must prove that the publication complies with current regulations”, stated Moraes. 2024 Elections Regarding the 2024 election, the presidents of the TREs also asked that the Electoral Justice guarantee the official transportation of voters to avoid disruptions on polling day. It was also informed that another 220,000 electronic voting machines will be purchased to modernize the current collection. The eventual obligation of biometrics to identify voters and the return of servers required to act in the election were also discussed. The meeting was closed to the press, and information about the meeting was released by the TSE. *With information from TSE
