The President of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), Rosa Weber, and Minister Alexandre de Moraes paid a visit to the Papuda prison, in the Federal District, where the prisoners denounced for involvement in the January 8 coup acts are held. The visit took place on Monday (10), but the information was only released on Tuesday by the court. According to the Supreme Court, the ministers inspected the cells and the food served to the detainees. Moraes even tasted the prisoners’ food. The ministers informed the prisoners that procedural deadlines are being met and that the situation of each one is being analyzed individually. The prison administration also made its considerations to the ministers and defended a greater number of agents to provide security for the unit. According to a survey by Moraes’ office, of the 1,400 prisoners on the day of the attacks, 294 (86 women and 208 men) remain in prison in the Federal District penitentiary system. The others were released because they no longer represented a risk to society and investigations.
