AGU obtains injunction to prevent criminal police strike

The Advocacy General of the Union (AGU) reported that it obtained an injunction in the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) to prevent the stoppage of the federal criminal police that was scheduled for today (14). According to the agency, an injunction issued by Minister Humberto Martins prohibits strikes and standard operations. In case of non-compliance, a fine of R$ 200,000 will be applied to union representatives of the category. In the petition, the AGU argued that the stoppage of the police could affect the security of federal prisons, where heads of criminal organizations are imprisoned. Public lawyers also maintained that the Federal Supreme Court (STF) has already defined that police officers cannot go on strike. Servers claim the approval of a plan to regulate the federal criminal police career. Before the decision of the STJ, the category suspended the stoppage to dialogue with the Ministry of Justice and Public Security.
