The Federal Police (PF) and the Ministry of Public Security of China signed, this Friday (14th), in Beijing, a letter of intent to strengthen police cooperation between the two countries. The act provides for the exchange of information, carrying out investigations and joint operational activities, as well as the exchange of police officers and administrative servants. Federal Police signs cooperation agreements with the Ministry of Public Security and the University of Public Security of China – Federal Police/ Disclosure The document was signed by the Director General of the PF, Andrei Passos, and by the Deputy Minister of Public Security of China, Liu Zhau, during a meeting at the headquarters of the Chinese body. According to the PF, during the meeting other cooperation mechanisms were also discussed, such as the proposal to create a Federal Police Attaché at the Brazilian Embassy in Beijing. Andrei Passos also visited the University of Public Security of China and met with the rector Cao Shiquan. On the occasion, a memorandum of understanding was signed for the implementation of training actions, such as training in the areas of intelligence, investigation and police operations, in addition to allowing the exchange of police officers between the National Police Academy of the PF and the University of Public Security of the China. The police authorities’ agreements are signed within the framework of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s trip to China. This Friday, Lula and the Chinese president, Xi Jinping, also signed 15 acts in various areas.
