President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said, this Wednesday (19), that the people who participated in the coup attempt on January 8 of this year will be judged and that, in Brazil, there is no room for Nazis and fascists. On that occasion, the buildings of the National Congress, the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the Planalto Palace were invaded and vandalized. “Each person who participated in the coup will be judged, will have the right to the presumption of innocence that I did not have, but we will not fail to judge each coup leader, because in this country there is no room for Nazis, fascists and those who do not like democracy “, he said. Lula also stated that he no longer has resentment and regrets for the acts. “When you arrive on December 31, 2026 [fim do mandato], I just want to be in a meeting like this, with you, to say that we did what we promised and much more, we fulfilled what we set out to do. My purpose is to recover this huge country for 210 million Brazilians,” she said. The president participated today in the installation of the Social Participation Council of the Presidency of the Republic and in the beginning of the process of elaboration of the Multi-Year Participatory Plan (PPA) 2024-2027. The Participatory PPA is the mechanism through which society gives its opinion on the government’s priorities for investment in resources and public policies over the next four years.
