Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), determined this Thursday (20) that the former minister of the Institutional Security Office (GSI) of the Presidency of the Republic Gonçalves Dias give testimony to the Federal Police (PF). The measure must be fulfilled within 48 hours. On Wednesday (19), Dias resigned from his post after images released by CNN Brasil showed him and other officials from the ministry inside the Palácio do Planalto, on January 8, when vandals invaded the headquarters of the Three Powers. Moraes’ decision was motivated by the dissemination of the images and is part of the investigation that investigates the responsibilities of public agents during the coup acts of January 8. “The press broadcast very serious images that indicate the incompetent performance of the authorities responsible for the internal security of the Planalto Palace, including the illicit and conniving omission of several GSI agents”, wrote the minister in the dispatch. Moraes also determined that all GSI employees who appear in the images be identified and heard by the PF. The minister also asked that the interim minister of the GSI, Ricardo Capelli, identify, within 24 hours, all the civil and military servants that appear in the images and inform the measures taken. Earlier, in an interview at the Planalto Palace, Capelli said that the identification will be carried out. He stated that he is evaluating the situation of the folder and should present an opinion on possible changes in the body’s structure. “We are going to do it with great tranquility, balance, firmness. We are starting to collect the data, we are going to make an evaluation and present it to the President of the Republic, on the way back from the trip [Espanha e Portugal]an assessment of the situation and course,” he said.
