The Mercado Municipal Paulistano, known as the Mercadão de São Paulo, is among the tour options for residents of São Paulo and tourists who visit the city of São Paulo on the Tiradentes holiday, celebrated this Friday (21). Visitors will be able to count, until April 23, from 10am to 4pm, in the Events Space, with the third edition of the Festival of Gastronomy and Culture (FGC), which this time honors Portugal. The culture and traditions of China and Japan passed through the Mercadão in previous months. The Gastronomy and Culture Festival has free admission and is open to the public. There will be food stalls, artistic and musical presentations and shops selling typical products, among other attractions. In this edition’s gastronomic program are PAME, an artisanal bakery; N2 Extreme Brasil, a gelateria where the customer can take any ingredient to be transformed into gelato; and B.lem, the largest chain of bakeries in Brazil, with Portuguese roots. On April 22, the date on which the discovery of Brazil is celebrated, the Gastronomy and Culture Space of Mercadão will stage an exclusive gastronomic experience with dishes by chef Vitor Sobral, from the Tasca da Esquina restaurant, one of the most traditional and winners from São Paulo. The menu consists of four dishes and a dessert, which can be consumed at will, for R$ 209.00. Tickets for this attraction can be purchased through Sympla or on the day of the event, subject to availability.
