Brazilian Carol Santiago won the gold medal in the 50-meter freestyle, in the S12 class (low vision), in the Paralympic swimming World Series stage that is held in Minneapolis (United States). The swimmer from Pernambuco secured the first position after finishing the race with a time of 26s72 last Friday (21st). This was the Brazilian’s third medal in the competition. On the first day of disputes, Thursday (20), the woman from Pernambuco won a silver in the 100-meter breaststroke, with a time of 1min16s82, and a bronze in the 100-meter freestyle, completed in 59s68. The disputes in the World Series are multiclass and the award is made according to the Technical Index of the Competition (ITC). This is the third stage of the competition with presence of Brazilian Paralympic swimmers in 2023. Before, Brazil was represented in the disputes in Sheffield (ING) and Lignano (ITA).
