Former Senator and Governor of São Paulo José Serra was hospitalized this Monday (24th) at Hospital Sírio-Libanês, in São Paulo, for a surgical procedure. According to the politician’s press office, he is going through a series of pre-operative exams so that, on Tuesday (25), he will undergo surgery to decompress a spinal nerve. The procedure is simple, according to the advice. José Serra is 81 years old. In his political career, Serra has been Minister of Health, Planning and Foreign Affairs, mayor of São Paulo (2005-2006), governor of São Paulo (2007-2010), federal deputy and senator.
