The Advocacy General of the Union (AGU) reported that it will file ten regressive actions this week to charge R$ 13.6 million from companies responsible for accidents at work. The measure is to cover the expenses of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) with the payment of 59 benefits granted to workers and their dependents. The collection actions involve several benefits, such as pension for death and temporary incapacity. Among the actions, AGU asks the INSS for compensation for an accident involving 17 workers in the rural area of Ituiutaba (MG), in 2021. On the occasion, three people died and 12 were injured when the vehicle fell into a cane field and caught fire. According to the AGU, since 2016, when the agency began filing regressive actions, 2,200 actions have been sent to the courts.
