This Saturday, the head of Interpol in São Paulo, Ricardo Sancovich, said in a press conference that the heir will sleep in the superintendence due to the time he arrived in Brazil, and that in the morning he must be submitted to a corpus delicti examination and hearing of custody before being transferred to a pre-trial detention centre. Accusations According to the São Paulo Court of Justice, Thiago Brennand is a defendant in at least 8 criminal cases, and had his preventive detention ordered in five of them. In addition to the attacks and rapes against women, the businessman is still being investigated for assaulting his son and for having a collection of illegal weapons. Cases involving Thiago Brennand gained notoriety after the release of security camera footage from a gym in São Paulo where he is caught assaulting a model. As a result of this episode, the Justice of São Paulo ordered his arrest. The businessman was arrested in October, in Abu Dhabi, but was released after paying bail. After discussions with the Brazilian government, the United Arab Emirates agreed to extradite the businessman, after he was included in Interpol’s red notice. Brennand was arrested again on April 17 after intelligence services in the Middle Eastern country identified a plan in which he intended to flee to Russia. A team made up of a delegate and two PF agents went to the United Arab Emirates to bring the Brazilian. A clerk trained in martial arts was also mobilized, given the prisoner’s violent history. Brennand’s defense pleads in court for the revocation of the businessman’s preventive detention, claiming that he intends to collaborate with the investigations. In addition to the assaults and rapes, he must answer for crimes such as false imprisonment and bodily harm, for having forced a woman to tattoo his name. He claims innocence and says he is persecuted.
