This Saturday (6) the city of São Paulo promotes actions in all basic health units (UBS) to emphasize prevention and care for hypertension and diabetes. The Avança Saúde – Hypertension and Diabetes program includes reception by the nursing team, with measurement of blood pressure and body mass index. The project also includes the active search for patients with respiratory symptoms and diabetes, sickle cell disease and women’s health, assessment of cardiovascular and diabetic foot risk and elderly people, pharmaceutical guidance, healthy eating, among others. “The actions carried out during Avança Saúde have a very significant reach, increase the number of consultations and result in care, prevention and promotion to the most different audiences. This Saturday, until 5 pm, our units will be ready to receive this edition of the program, expanding the offer of our services and patients’ access to continued care within the UBSs”, said the executive secretary of Primary Care, Specialties and Surveillance in Cheers, Sandra Sabino. According to information from the Municipal Health Department, in 2022, 708,000 consultations were carried out in the editions of Avança Saúde, such as Hypertension and Diabetes, Hearing, Spirometry, Children and Adolescents, Oral Health – Prostheses, Exams and Surgery, Inclusive Territory, in addition to Avança Saúde Mulher, which also had an edition on March 11 of this year with more than 33,000 evaluations.
