The Federal Police (PF) launched, from January to May this year, across the country, 163 operations to combat abuse and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents. So far, 108 people have been arrested, 37 victims have been identified and 255 search and seizure warrants have been served. This Thursday (18), National Day to Combat Abuse and Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents, eight operations were launched: in Campina Grande and Patos, in Paraíba; São José dos Campos, in São Paulo; Paranaguá and Ponta Grossa, in Paraná; Florianópolis; Porto Velho and Rio de Janeiro. In a note, the PF states that child pornography is a “serious violation of human rights and causes irreparable damage to victims”, and that, given the “sophistication and growth” of this type of crime, it created a task force capable of identifying children who are victims and abusers, through the analysis of images shared on the internet. The Federal Police informs that there are also partnerships with national and international agencies, such as Interpol and Europol, for the sharing of information and the establishment of joint strategies, which makes it possible to trace the origins of the material, identify the distribution routes and arrest those involved. in different countries. “It is important to emphasize that the PF’s role in combating the abuse and sexual exploitation of children and adolescents is not restricted to investigating and repressing criminals. She is also concerned with rescuing and protecting victims of this type of exploitation,” says the PF note. Actions In Campina Grande, a suspect was identified for storing and sharing photo and video files with child abuse material, from December 2021 to May 2022. In Patos, the Lobo Operation had as its starting point a communication from the police australiana about videos posted on darkweb forums (set of hidden sites on the internet, which can only be accessed through a specific browser), in which a Brazilian is suspected of sexually abusing a child. The man was identified, resides in the city of Cajazeiras and is also accused of having sold records of explicit sex or pornography with children or adolescents, as well as rape of a vulnerable person. Another case investigated by the PF was in São José dos Campos, where a man, who maintained dialogues in messaging applications to obtain child and youth pornography images, is suspected of participating in the production of content of this type. In Paranaguá, “dozens of suspects” are being investigated for selling, sharing and acquiring pornographic content for children and young people. According to the PF, criminals marketed and exchanged files on social media and subsequently migrated to closed groups of messaging apps. The PF unit in Ponta Grossa investigated – in the municipalities of Palmeira and Campo Largo, also in Paraná – a group of people who downloaded and shared images with child sexual content. Launched in Florianópolis, Operation Double Face arrested a man in flagrante delicto, suspected of storing and disclosing abuse material and sexual exploitation of children and teenagers over the internet. In Porto Velho, the Accumulator Operation was triggered after investigators found similar materials produced by an internet user residing in Ji-Paraná, in Rondônia. In Rio de Janeiro, a 21-year-old man was arrested with videos and photos of child sexual abuse, in the midst of executing a search and seizure warrant in Seropédica, in the Baixada Fluminense municipality. The man shared videos and photos of sex involving children and teenagers on the world wide web.
