The federal government will change the presentation of the Carteira Nacional de Identidade (CIN) to make the registry more inclusive and representative. The new document will no longer distinguish between social name and civil registry name. In this way, it will adopt the name to which the person declares himself in the act of issuance. The identity card will be printed without the gender field. The decree that will regulate the issuance of the CIN with the changes is expected to be published at the end of June. From the release of the standard, all new documents will already be issued in the new model. The changes in the National Identity Card were requested by the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship, with the aim of promoting greater citizenship and respect for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transvestite, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual and Other (LGBTQIA+) and are part of the federal government’s commitment to public policies aimed at this public. Identity The National Identity Card determines the CPF as a unique and valid number throughout the national territory. The document is able to be executed in 12 states: Acre, Alagoas, Amazonas, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, Piauí, Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. For the issuance, the population must seek the Secretary of Public Security of the state where they want to be assisted. With the new identity, the probability of fraud is less, since before it was possible for the same person to have an RG number per state, in addition to the CPF. The new wallet will have a QR Code, which allows verifying the authenticity of the document, as well as knowing if it was stolen or lost, using any smartphone. It also has an international standard code called MRZ, the same used in passports, which makes it a travel document.
