The Minister of Indigenous Peoples, Sonia Guajajara, and the American actor Leonardo DiCaprio, met on Monday (22) in Cannes, France, during the city’s traditional film festival. The actor, who is an environmental activist and maintains an organization for environmental conservation, said he was honored with the meeting, in support of indigenous peoples for the preservation of the Amazon Forest. “My organization @rewild and our partners support Brazil and the more than 900,000 indigenous people of 300 ethnicities,” tweeted DiCaprio. This event was to support the Indigenous people leading the conservation of the Amazon rainforest.
