The 021 is valid throughout Spain and calling the number is free. The service will be operated by the Directorate General for Equal Treatment and Ethnic Racial Diversity, subordinated to the Spanish Ministry of Equality and the Council for the Elimination of Racial or Ethical Discrimination. Minister Anielle Franco informed that Brazil intends to launch, by the end of the year, the Dial 138, to receive complaints of racism, discrimination and racial insults. “We had some victories because of our pressure, our positioning, here [no Brasil], regarding this case. They launched 021, as if it were a racism hotline. We had already talked about this in two meetings. I take the opportunity to say that this is also our idea of having a racism hotline here [no Brasil], by the end of the year, which would be our 138”. The MDHC already coordinates the Dial 100, which records and forwards records of human rights violations to the competent bodies.
