The Federal Police launched, this Tuesday (22), the 12th phase of Operation Lesa Pátria, which investigates the coup acts practiced against the headquarters of the Three Powers, in Brasília, on January 8. At this stage, the objective is to identify people who participated, financed, omitted or encouraged the acts, which resulted in “violence and generalized damage against the properties, furniture and objects of those institutions”. According to investigators, a preventive arrest warrant and four search and seizure warrants are being fulfilled by determination of the Federal Supreme Court (STF). “The facts investigated constitute, in theory, the crimes of violent abolition of the Democratic State of Law, coup d’état, qualified damage, criminal association, incitement to crime, destruction and deterioration or destruction of specially protected property”, he informed, in a note, the PF, without giving more details about today’s actions. Operation Lesa Pátria is still ongoing, with periodic updates on the number of court orders issued, people captured and fugitives. Matter amended at 8:46 am to correct information on arrest warrant: it’s only one, not two as previously reported by the PF.
