The Ministry of Health announced R$ 870 million to be transferred to states and municipalities to fund new specialties in basic health care – including cardiologists, dermatologists, endocrinologists, infectologists and homeopaths. The teams are currently composed of nutritionists, physiotherapists, pediatricians, psychologists, gynecologists and pharmacists. The ordinance was published this Monday (22) in the Official Gazette. According to the ministry, with the reconstruction and reformulation of the strategy, now called eMulti, the expectation is that 4,000 multidisciplinary teams will once again organize themselves and provide this service throughout the country. For the ministry, the resumption of multidisciplinary teams is essential to ensure comprehensive care, increasing resolution in primary care through specialized care in basic health units (UBS). “Many municipalities, even with the dismantling of this strategy in the last government, kept the multidisciplinary teams working. Now, with the resumption of investment, these teams can be reorganized.” The ordinance establishes guidelines for funding and implementation of teams that will be classified into three modalities, according to workload, linkage and professional composition. Monthly transfers from the federal government to fund these teams vary between R$12,000 and R$36,000, and may change according to performance indicators in each location. Check the list of professionals that may be included in the teams: art educator; social worker; clinical pharmacist; physiotherapist; speech therapist; acupuncturist doctor; cardiologist; dermatologist; endocrinologist; geriatric; gynecologist/obstetrician; leprosy; homeopath; infectologist; pediatrician; psychiatrist; veterinarian; nutritionist; physical education professional in health; psychologist; sanitarian; and occupational therapist.
