The University of São Paulo (USP) will reserve 20% of vacancies in the institution’s contests for black, brown or indigenous people (PPI). Affirmative action will cover selections for professors, technical and administrative staff. The resolution was approved by the University Council on Monday (22). The reservation of 20% of vacancies will be applied to tenders with three vacancies or more. For selections with one or two vacancies, PPI candidates will receive a differentiated score based on state regulations. The self-declarations of black and brown candidates will be confirmed by a hetero-identification panel. In the case of indigenous candidacies, the Administrative Registration of Birth of the Indian (Rani) of the candidate himself or of one of the parents will be required. Selective processes that are suspended at the university, for the hiring of 79 people for the positions of administrative analyst, veterinarian and attorney, should receive a new notice with the incorporation of the reservation of vacancies.
