The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, said that the deliveries and visits to the states made within the framework of the second edition of the National Program for Public Security with Citizenship (Pronasci 2) show the willingness of the federal government to resume dialogues interrupted by polarization. country’s politics in recent years. According to Dino, the pacification of the country, after so much stimulus to hatred, has to be centered on “respect for the law”, with partnerships between government and states “vital to strengthen the bonds of trust”. The statement was made this Monday (29) in Alagoas, during the launch of Pronasci 2 in the state. “I want to say that we believe that partnerships with states are vital to strengthen these bonds of trust. What Brazil needs is restored trust among compatriots”, said the minister, emphasizing that the stimulus to hatred, to achieve political objectives, “harmed interpersonal ties that are fundamental for us to talk about the homeland and the nation”. “We saw hatred within homes, within families, in workplaces. It is impossible to build such a country. Therefore, we need to pacify the nation around respect for the law. What makes vehicle traffic possible is that some go on the right and others go on the left. But they all abide by the same law. So, it doesn’t matter if, in the traffic of politics, you are more to the right or more to the left. What matters is that there is confidence that everyone will comply with the law”, argued the minister. Flávio Dino said that the mission of the current government is to rebuild the country and that, for that, there needs to be trust between the different spheres of power. “We trust governors, regardless of party. I even made a point of having started this itinerancy [de lançamento do Pronasci nos estados] in the south of the country, with governors who did not support President Lula. And the same treatment we are giving here in Alagoas we have given to all governors.” The minister added that the application of the resources foreseen in the program will be defined by the states, something that, according to him, was made difficult by the previous administration. “There was distrust in the past towards governors. To get the money released, the governor had to present a plan that was more detailed than reasonable. We’re done with it. Now, the governor spends and accounts. He was elected by the people. So, he is free to prioritize policies, and he will only be accountable at the end,” he added. According to Flávio Dino, the “main concept” of his portfolio in relation to local security authorities is that of integration, with joint work involving all state police and the Federal Police. The minister also recalled the creation of the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime mechanism, called Ficco, which is being taken to all states. “When we arrived at the ministry, there were 13 forces, but we are going to end the year with 27,” he said.
