Businessman Thiago Brennand, accused of assaulting women, will be questioned on June 21. In addition to him, the hearing scheduled for 2 pm also hears five defense witnesses. He is accused of assaulting women – one of these assaults was caught on camera at a gym in São Paulo. Brennand was on the run in the United Arab Emirates and was extradited about a month ago, after negotiations by the Brazilian government. Yesterday (30), on the first day of the trial at the 2nd Court of Porto Feliz, in the interior of São Paulo, one of the victims and 3 defense witnesses were heard. The hearing was chaired by Judge Fernando Henrique Masseroni Mayer. According to the TJ, the process in question is being conducted in secrecy of justice and, therefore, the hearing is closed to the press. Agência Brasil requested a position from the defense of the accused, but did not receive a response until the conclusion of the report. Accusations According to the TJ, Thiago Brennand is a defendant in at least 8 criminal cases, and had his preventive detention ordered in five of them. In addition to the attacks and rapes against women, the businessman is still being investigated for assaulting his son and for having a collection of illegal weapons. Cases involving Thiago Brennand gained notoriety after the release of security camera footage from a gym in São Paulo, in which he is caught assaulting a model. As a result of this episode, the Justice of São Paulo ordered his arrest.
