The mixed commission that analyzes the Provisional Measure on the recreation of the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program approved this Thursday (1st) the report by Deputy Marangoni (União-SP). The rapporteur made changes to the original text, sent by the federal government. Marangoni removed the exclusivity of Caixa Econômica Federal as operator of the program. With the change, private banks, digital banks and credit unions will be able to operate in the program, as long as they provide information about transfers to the Ministry of Cities with identification of the credit recipient. According to the Chamber’s News Agency, the report predicts that at least 5% of the housing program’s resources should be used to finance the resumption of stalled works, refurbishment or requalification of unused properties and housing construction in cities of up to 50 thousand inhabitants. The rapporteur also accepted the amendment that allows a 50% discount on the energy bill of those who are enrolled in the CadÚnico, a register of government social programs. In total, the deputy included more than 80 amendments to the text, which will be voted on in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies. The MP, edited by the government, is valid until June 14. * With information from the Chamber Agency
