Then, in the dispute for third place, the Brazil was beaten by Latvia by 22 to 12. “Since we arrived in Austria, we worked exactly what we had been planning since February. We reached a historic semifinal and, when you reach this level of clash, the level is very high and we knew how to deal with it. We made an even semifinal with the USA and could have won. It’s keeping up the work, correcting the mistakes, continuing to evolve and we’ll move forward”, declared the national team’s coach, Luca Carvalho. The World Cup gave the top three teams a direct qualification for the Pre-Olympics of the Paris Olympic Games. Outside the podium, Brazil can seek its place in the tournament through the Copa America, at the end of the year, or also through the world qualifying for the Pre-Olympics in 2024.
