Banking branches across the country remain closed for in-person service to the public this Thursday (8), Corpus Christi holiday. According to the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban), the decision follows the resolution of the National Monetary Council, which does not consider business days for the purposes of banking operations nationwide holidays. Next Friday (9), branches open normally for public service. On Saturday (10), only the banks’ self-service areas will be available to customers, as well as digital and remote channels, such as websites and an application, for making transfers and paying bills. Also according to Febraban, consumption bills such as water, energy and telephone, in addition to booklets due on Thursday, can be paid, without any increase, on the business day following the holiday, that is, on Friday. If the date is not automatically adjusted, the suggestion is to anticipate or schedule the payment at ATMs, internet banking and by calling the bank.
